Lake Highlands Gun Range
Lake Highlands Shooting Center is designed not only for the avid shooter but also for the novice and the occasional shooter.
LHSC welcomes those who are interested in learning more about responsible firearm ownership and safety.
Lake Highlands Shooting Center (LHSC) is one of the newest family-owned and managed pistol and rifle-ready gun range in Dallas, Texas,
with the latest innovations in climate control, bullet traps, and acoustical sound prevention. We have 12 lanes divided into three bays.
The first two bays are 15 yards long with five lanes each used for general shooting and LTC and basic training classes. The third bay has two lanes at 15 yards.
The third bay's two lanes are used for the MILO scenario training system, small groups of private parties of up to eight shooters as well as the AR 15 and AK 47 rifles.
LHSC is primarily a pistol range with qualified and talented group of contractor instructors available to teach a variety of weapons courses.
We do welcome shooters with AR 15, AK 47 and other rifles. We also welcome qualified and insured independent instructors to bring their classes to LHSC and be available to teach our shooter when called.
All weapons must have sights. No bullets or cartridges can contain steel components. No 5.56 mm Green Tip rounds allowed! All bullets will be subject to a magnet test!
LOCATION:
LHSC is located in central Dallas Texas a block south of LBJ and a block east of Plano Rd.
PARKING:
While it may look as if our lanes or busy, many days our three classrooms are busy and our lanes are NOT!
Hours of class are deceptive since the students will be in class for hours and only on the Range for 30 minutes Qualifying.
Street parking and the BB OWEN city park has 60+ parking spaces available.
MILO LIVE FIRE
Scenarios
Our third bay also contains our new MILO LIVE FIRE Projection Targeting System.
The MILO system is a realistic dynamic projection with up to 800 real life scenarios depicting illegal activity where the LHSC shooter can interact with the lawless action on the screen projection.
The MILO system is designed to train law enforcement and individuals to improve their skills and response to dangerous situations. MILO is used by the FBI, ATF and Police agencies throughout the world.
MILO is the next level in weapons and self-defense training offering realism unavailable elsewhere.
LHSC shooters will feel as though they are in the middle of the event and have an opportunity to resolve the conflict peacefully or with an actual live shot from their weapon.
If the LHSC shooter’s action is a termination shot, the perpetrator will fall and the scenario will end.
The next level is with an instructor controlling the “Branching” feature which allows the instructor to change the events of the scenario in real time. Audio commands are involved and add to the realism.
MILO also has scenarios of attacking zombies and other moving and stationary targets.
LHSC is the ONLY Public Range in the Dallas Metroplex with the MILO LIVE FIRE system in order that our customers have the option to shoot with their own weapon, rent our weapons or use our laser mounted Glock weapons.
The MILO system incorporates a major step above all other training systems by providing their “Branching” feature that allows the instructor to intervene from his control station and modify the perpetrators actions to deescalate or intensify the scenarios activity.

Retail
FIREARMS
LHSC maintains rental firearms for customers to test fire on our range prior to buying a new gun.
LHSC maintains a small number of weapons for sale due to limited space. We do have five wholesale suppliers who can ship weapons to us in two to three days.
If you purchase a weapon from us, we do not charge the FFL transfer fee like online sales require.
All of our firearms are locked in a very large safe after hours.
AMMUNITION
LHSC maintains a variety of calibers from .22 to .45-70 including the most popular .380, 9mm, 10mm, .38, .357, .40, .45ACP, 45 LONG COLT, .223, 5.56, .308, .45-70
We also have other more rare calibers: .300 Blackout, 6.5 Creedmoor, 5.7x28, 7.62x39, 30-30, .44 Rem, .350 Legend.
Lake Highlands Shooting Center in Dallas, TX maintains a supply of range ammunition and ear and eye protection for our customers. We also have hard and soft pistol carrying cases in aluminum, poly, leather, and vinyl. Cases for men and women include rugged metal, fashionably styled, and water-resistant poly cases.
GUN CASES
We also provide ladies cases from Gun Tote’n Mama, rifle cases from Savior Equipment, pistol cases from TZ Case as well as other brands.
FFL
FFL transfers are only available Wednesday through Sunday. Once you are notified that your weapon has been delivered to LHSC, we will log it in according to ATF requirements and contact you by text message to come in with your drivers license and retrieve it. Two days is the average time depending on when it come in and our workload. If you have your LTC, it will speed up the FBI background check.

Instructors, as a courtesy, please let us know if you are bringing more than three students to be qualified on range or need to reserve a classroom for instruction.

Texas Department of Public Safety official training and certification course. Open to any employee of a school district or open enrollment charter school. Additional classes can be scheduled during the week as needed.
Range qualifications are available by appointment for those who have taken the online courses.
Qualifiers need to verify that they have had the basic pistol course.
Requests for an on-site instructor for the same day should be made as early as possible to allow for instructor availability. The start time for the last Basic Pistol Class should be NO later than 4:00 PM for there to be enough time for training and shooter range time. Instructors are not always available on the range.
LHSC has regular classes for Security Courses Levels II, III commissioned, IV Body Guard and Defensive Tactics on-line and with instructors.
Our team is available for regular and on call classes as well as Renewals.
GIFT CARDS
For those not ready to acquire a membership in the LHSC, we offer gift cards for five (5) or ten (10) visits at a reduced rate.
Gift cards never expire and give you an opportunity to try out our range. If you like us, you can convert any funds left on the gift to apply to your membership.
Our gift card is a great holiday, birthday, graduation, or just a fun thank you gift for family or friends.

- Carry is the law of Texas, but having the LTC is the safest way to protect yourself with the laws and information necessary to make you aware of what you can do legally when you carry a weapon.
New shooters and experienced weapons handlers will all benefit by the extreme simulations provided by MILO’S 800 real life scenarios developed over MILO’S 20 years’ experience!

RETAIL EVENTS AND PARTIES
Lake Highlands Shooting Center Hosts Events and Parties for adults and children in our classrooms. Groups from six to 25 can use our facilities for birthday, bachelor and group get togethers.
On a Lighter note, MILO offers series of attack scenario videos for the younger set with extreme background graphics and
ZOMBIES that explode when shot. The Zombie scenarios work well with our laser pistols, LIVE FIRE and shooters of all ages.
Zombie parties are great for kids of all ages.
