Lake Highlands Gun Range
Lake Highlands Shooting Center (LHSC) is one of the newest family-owned and managed pistol and rifle-ready gun range in Dallas, Texas, with the latest innovations in climate control, bullet traps, and acoustical sound prevention. We have 12 lanes divided into three bays. The first two bays are 46 feet long with five lanes each used for general shooting and LTC and basic training classes. The third bay has two lanes at 46 feet.
The third bay has two lanes at 15 YARDS used for the MILO scenario training system, small groups of private parties of up to eight shooters as well as the AR and AK rifles.
LHSC is primarily a pistol range with many instructors to teach a variety of weapons courses, but we welcome shooters with AR 15 and AK 47 rifles and shotguns with slugs.
All weapons must have sights. No bullets or cartridges can contain steel components. No 5.56 mm Green Tip rounds allowed! All bullets will be subject to a magnet test!
MILO LIVE FIRE
Projected Scenarios
Our third bay now contains our new MILO LIVE FIRE Projection Targeting System. The MILO system is a realistic dynamic projection with up to 800 real life scenarios depicting illegal activity where the LHSC shooter can interact with the lawless action on the screen projection.
MILO is the next level in weapons and self-defense training offering realism unavailable elsewhere. LHSC shooters will feel as though they are in the middle of the event and have an opportunity to resolve the conflict peacefully or with an actual live shot from their weapon.
If the LHSC shooter’s action is a termination shot, the perpetrator will fall and the scenario will end.
The next level is with an instructor controlling the “Branching” feature which allows the instructor to change the events of the scenario in real time. Audio commands are involved and add to the realism.
MILO also has scenarios of attacking zombies and other moving and stationary targets.
LHSC is the ONLY Public Range in the Dallas Metroplex with the LIVE FIRE system in order that our customers have the option to shoot with their own weapon, rent our weapons or use our laser mounted Glock weapons.
The MILO system incorporates a major step above all other training systems by providing their “Branching” feature that allows the instructor to intervene from his control station and modify the perpetrators actions to deescalate or intensify the scenarios activity.
The MILO targeting system provides the most comprehensive shooting experience available for law enforcement firearms training and recreational training.

Lake Highlands Shooting Center is a hospitable range and welcomes qualified LTC instructors, Commissioned Law Enforcement Officers, Security Service and Special Instructors to bring their classes to LHSC and qualify their students in our range.
Three classrooms are available for instruction and outside instructors are welcome to bring their own students.
As a curtesy, please let us know if you are bringing more than three students to qualify on the range or need to rent a classroom.
All bullet traps are double-wrapped with AR 500 steel and are rifle-ready up to 3500 fps. All pistol calibers are welcome. Most rifles are welcome, but no .50 caliber BMG, please. Shotguns are also welcome, slugs only.
Lake Highlands Shooting Center is designed not only for the avid shooter but also for the novice and the occasional shooter. Range welcomes those who are interested in learning more about responsible firearm ownership and safety.
The overall safety of shooters and spectators is a priority that has received special attention in the design and construction of the range. State-of-the-art equipment is in use and includes a sophisticated purging filtered ventilation system for cleaner air for the shooters while effectively surpassing all NIOSH, NRA, and OSHA air quality standards.
All range air is conditioned and heated or cooled as necessary to make the shooter’s experience as pleasant as possible. Conditioned air is moved downrange and extracted with three venting systems to the outside atmosphere via filters. No range air with primer or smoke is reintroduced into the range. Shooters will have fresh, outside Texas air that’s filtered and conditioned during their visit. Lake Highlands Shooting Center is a GREEN FACILITY with Renew Air heat and humidity exchangers that maximize energy savings.
LHSC’s ventilation is designed to provide the cleanest air possible to the shooter. No range air is reintroduced into the range. All air is evacuated to the atmosphere through filters. The Renew Aire system conserves energy by cooling the incoming hot air. Our bullet trap is one of the safest AR 500 STEEL traps made. Similarly, in the winter, heated air is exhausted to the outside is used to preheat the incoming cold air to again conserve energy.
All lanes have individually protected shooting positions and downrange AR 500 steel ceiling baffle system on all the bays. Viewing windows are bullet-resistant glass, and walls are CMU blocks filled with 3000 psi concrete. Our goal is to provide the safest and friendliest shooting center in the Lake Highlands and Dallas area.
The Pro Shop is located just behind the shooters’ booths and provides a safe viewing area for family and friends through bullet-resistant windows. The shop also provides sales merchandise, including guns, gun cases and accessories.
CHL/LTC classes, gun sales, FFL transfers, gun rentals, memberships, special events, private parties, gun cases, and accessories are available.
FFL transfer fees are:

Retail
FIREARMS
LHSC maintains rental firearms for customers to test fire on our range prior to buying a new gun.
LHSC maintains a small number of weapons for sale due to limited space. We do have five wholesale suppliers who can ship weapons to us in two to three days.
If you purchase a weapon from us, we do not charge the FFL transfer fee like online sales require.
All of our firearms are locked in a very large safe after hours.
AMMUNITION
LHSC maintains a variety of calibers from .22 to .45-70 including the most popular .380, 9mm, 10mm, .38, .357, .40, .45ACP, 45 LONG COLT, .223, 5.56, .308, .45-70
We also have other more rare calibers: .300 Blackout, 6.5 Creedmoor, 5.7x28, 7.62x39, 30-30, .44 Rem, .350 Legend, 12 gage slugs, 20 gage slugs
Lake Highlands Shooting Center in Dallas, TX maintains a supply of range ammunition and ear and eye protection for our customers. We also have hard and soft pistol carrying cases in aluminum, poly, leather, and vinyl. Cases for men and women include rugged metal, fashionably styled, and water-resistant poly cases.
GUN CASES
We also provide ladies cases from Gun Tote’n Mama, rifle cases from Savior Equipment, pistol cases from TZ Case as well as other brands.
FFL
FFL transfers are only available Tuesday through Sunday. Once you are notified that your weapon has been delivered to LHSC, we will log it in according to ATF requirements and contact you by text message to come in with your drivers license and retrieve it. Two days is the average time depending on when it come in and our workload. If you have your LTC, it will speed up the FBI background check.

For those not ready to acquire a membership in the LHSC, we offer gift cards for five (5) or ten (10) visits at a reduced rate.
Gift cards never expire and give you an opportunity to try out our range. If you like us, you can convert any funds left on the gift to apply to your membership.

The ability for trainees to use their own weapons will greatly enhance the reality and value of the training.
- Carry is the law of Texas, but having the LTC is the safest way to protect yourself with the laws and information necessary to make you aware of what you can do legally when you carry a weapon.
New shooters and experienced weapons handlers will all benefit by the extreme simulations provided by MILO’S 800 real life scenarios developed over MILO’S 20 years’ experience!

RETAIL EVENTS AND PARTIES
Lake Highlands Shooting Center Hosts Events and Parties for adults and children in our classrooms. Groups from six to 25 can use our facilities for birthday, bachelor and group get togethers.
On a Lighter note, MILO offers series of attack scenario videos for the younger set with extreme background graphics and
ZOMBIES that explode when shot. The Zombie scenarios work well with our laser pistols, LIVE FIRE and shooters of all ages.
Zombie parties are great for kids of all ages.
